TRAVELING TO AND FROM YOUR RETREAT

Participants are responsible for paying and booking their own roundtrip flights to the Liberia Airport. Saturdays (the first and last days of the retreats) are arrival and departure days. We suggest you arrive in Liberia in the afternoon (no later than 8 pm) so you can enjoy their first day and get settled. On the final day, we ask that departure flights be by 2 pm so that we can take care of checking out of the Wave House. These are preferred times but we can be flexible if travel plans don’t fit those parameters, but please contact us first to make sure before booking. When your flights are booked, please send your itinerary information to tara@sea2free.org so we can coordinate your transportation arrangements.

Once in Costa Rica, you’ll be guided to customs where they will ask for your travel plans and check your documents. Once cleared, you’ll head to baggage claim for your bags. This is also where some choose to stop at the duty-free store to stock up on a few desired items.

We know it’s been a long day. Your driver will be waiting for you outside with a sign with your name on it. Now you can sit back and enjoy a cold drink in an air conditioned ride to the retreat house.

Transportation including all of the surf gear is taken care of all week long. We have a great driver dedicated to making our surf days and excursions possible. An added bonus is he’s knowledgeable of the local watering holes and quick markets in the area and happy to stop for the needed stock-up on drinks and snacks during the week. He stays with our vehicle so you can leave items in the car during surfing and at stops.

We hate to say goodbye but you can’t stay forever. However, you can keep us and your surf journey live in your heart. On the final day, we ask that departure flights be between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm so that we can take care of checking out of the Wave House. Please know that if your flight is at 8 am, that means you will need to leave at 5 am. See #1 for departure information.

After arriving home, share and tag us in your photos! Take time to reflect on your week, enjoy your suntan and your newfound relaxed state of mind. You’ll forever be part of our Sea2Free family.
